Position Details (What is this?)

Context
The Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour helps people access post-secondary education, develop basic skills, plan careers, find and keep jobs, obtain financial assistance and immigrate to the province. The department undertakes strategic initiatives to align labour supply and demand,  supports employers in accessing and keeping skilled workers, works with organizations to deliver employment and career supports, assists people affected by large-scale emergencies, and leads corporate-wide strategies to promote immigration and multiculturalism. The department works with employees and employers to foster positive employment relations through programs and services including protection of labour rights, assists in resolving workplace issues, arriving at collective agreements, and the creation of partnerships to promote the revision and relevance of the employment relations regulatory framework.
Duties
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Client Services Manager implements, manages and evaluates the frontline delivery of employment and income support programs and services. Specifically, this position provides management and support to staff, including developing skills, setting expectations and managing performance; develops and communicates a vision of client-focused service and continuous improvement; fosters a team-focused approach to service delivery and problem-solving; collaborates with other service providers and builds relationships with community partners; resolves employee relations issues; approves expense claims; evaluates business processes and implements change; performs audit and compliance monitoring activities; works with departmental colleagues to coordinate and integrate program areas; and performs other related duties as required.

  3. Experience coaching or mentoring staff or clients
  4. Completion of an undergraduate degree in business administration or social sciences (equivalencies will be considered)

  6. Experience collaborating on team projects or initiatives (asset)
  7. Experience resolving complaints or conflicts in a client/customer service environment (asset)
