This is a position of a highly responsible nature that is directly accountable for the efficient and effective development, delivery, and management of functional aspects of the PeopleSoft Human Resource Management System (HRMS). This includes providing direction, guidance, expertise, and advisory services regarding all modules of HRMS. The incumbent will perform functional planning, testing and documentation for PUM image updates, including tax updates. The Business Analyst makes recommendations on system enhancements; maintaining control over all test instances of the application; setup and configuration; status reporting, The incumbent will provide functional support for payroll processing, identifying and troubleshooting issues and recommending complex solutions involving multiple business processes and HRMS modules. This position also provides advice and consultation to the Director of Compensation and Payroll Services in relation to payroll and benefits processing and administration policies, processes, and procedures for the enhancement of internal system control. The Business Analyst position is also responsible for ensuring the proper alignment of system functionality with the business processes and operational needs of the work unit.Screening Criteria
1. Completion of a Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Business. (equivalencies will be considered).2. Experience supporting PeopleSoft HCM including system configuration, information management and tools such as PS Query and SQL.
3. Experience with system testing, resolving issues and supporting data conversion processes.
4. Experience in a human resources or payroll service delivery environment, including interpreting and applying collective agreements.
5. Completion of a certificate in Business Analysis Project Management or CPA certification (asset).
Assessment Criteria
1. Knowledge and experience with PeopleSoft HCM configuration, data management and reporting tools.2. Knowledge of business analysis practices.
3. Knowledge and proficiency with the Management of Information Act, Access to Information and Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Act (asset).
4. Knowledge and experience in a human resources or payroll service delivery environment.
5. Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues involving system integrations delivered processes
6. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
7. Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
8. Professionalism.
